On Saturday, July 23rd Sister Matthew Maria Rancillo celebrated her 50th anniversary of religious profession as an Apostle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Mount Sacred Heart in Hamden, Connecticut. All the Sisters from Sacred Heart Villa gathered with other community members along with some of Sr. Matthew Maria’s friends and family members to witness her renewal of the profession of vows on this joyous occasion. Sr. Matthew Maria, who is a native of St. Louis, joined the community of the Apostles after high school for her formation in Hamden. Sister has been our catechist for the Atrium program for the past five years and will be leading these special religion classes again this coming school year. This is Sr. Matthew’s second time at the Villa as the catechist for the Catechists of the Good Shepherd program. From 2005-2008, Sr. Matthew lead The Villa's Atrium program for the first time. In addition to her love for sharing God’s Word and prayer with our little ones, Sister has organized our vegetable, fruit and flower gardens which you can see in the front school yard. She tirelessly weeds and works on these gardens. We are so blessed to have Sr. Matthew Maria on our staff! We congratulate her on this inspiring achievement of her 50th Jubilee as a consecrated religious Sister. God bless you, Sr. Matthew Maria!
