Our 10th Heart of Hearts Auction was a fantastic gala. We are so grateful for all our sponsors, donors and those who attended the event in person or virtually. Our auction was not only very successful, but it was the first time so many of our school parents were able to gather in two years. The energy and joy in the room was palpable. A good time was had by all!
During the evening, we honored three people who have a special connection to Sacred Heart Villa with our Heart of Hearts Award. First, we recognized Sarah Krueger and Kim Striler who chaired our first auction. Both women had two children attend Sacred Heart Villa from Nursery to Kindergarten, have served our advisory board and are loyal supporters of our school. Then we honored a member of Sacred Heart Villa’s first class taught by the legendary Sister Felicetta in 1940. Edward Imo would later establish Imo’s Pizza. He and his family are grateful for the education they received from the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for more than 80 years. The Sisters are very appreciative that Imo’s Pizza has been our premier sponsor since the first auction.
Halfway through the very successful Live Auction, was the Fund A Need portion. We introduced this year’s need by showing a video created by Cory Weaver (one of our dads) of the kindergarten class singing and dancing to a lively song about our 40-year-old elevator. See it here here.
This video and an animated talk by Sr. Bridget, Director of Mission Advancement, excited the guests to “raise it up to the max” for our “ela-ela-elavator.” Our goal was $30,000. We raised over $34,000 that evening. When added to other donations we received prior to the auction from friends of SHV who could not attended, we have raised over $40,000.
We are so grateful to all who helped make this annual fundraiser so successful! Special thanks goes to: Fletcher Lane, our auctioneer; Matt Devoti, our emcee; Barb Iovaldi, our event coordinator; and Sr. Bridget Smith, our Directoer of Mission Advancement; our sponsors, the SHV families; our staff volunteers; the Favazza Family & staff of Rose of the Hill.
