New COVID Plan for SHV Brings Smiles

Sacred Heart Villa will put a new the COVID plan into place beginning Monday, 3/28/22. This plan is appropriate for our school community. It has been approved by the City of St. Louis Health Department, and our school’s COVID Task Force Team. Our new plan is based on the school positivity rate.

  • If The Villa has a psitivity rate that is <2%, masks are optional. The parents can choose whether to have their child wear a mask while inside our building. Staff members can make their own decision for themselves as well.
  • If the schol’s positivity rate is 2-4%, masks will be worn based on the situation: when students gather in a communal area like the playroom with other classes, when a student has piano and Spanish lessons in a small room.
  • If The Villa reaches a psitivity rate >4%, all children except the two youngest classes and all adults entering the building will wear a mask.  Masks wuld be have to be worn at all times, except for eating and nap time for children.

Currently Sacred Heart Villa has a 0% positivity rate, so parents will be able to choose to send their child to school without or with a mask.  We will respect the individual decisions of both staff and parents. The staff of SHV look forward to teaching without masks on their faces and even more so, look forward to seeing the children in the classroom with smiles!

The SHV Task Force Team and the City of St. Louis Health Department have been very instrumental and helpful as our early childhood center moves forward.  The administration has been strongly advised many times throughout this pandemic to move slowly and cautiously. This will continue to be our philosophy going forward. We are cognizant of our large unvaccinated population and will monitor and advise parents if changes need to be made in our plan.
