We Celebrate Our Catholic Schools and Look Ahead to Next Year
Catholic Schools Week
This week throughout the United States we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Annually we recognize the faith, excellence and service offered through Catholic education. We acknowledge the important phenomenal difference Catholic institutions, from preschools to universities, have made a to our nation, the Church, and the world. The events during Catholic Schools Week showcase and celebrate the rich traditions and incredible value of Catholic education.
Here at The Villa we try hard to bring this celebration down to the children’s level of understanding as we focus on one aspect of our school community each day.
On Monday, we celebrate being part of a caring community and neighborhood. The students will also learn how local businesses on The Hill help support our school. The classes will have made an art piece to give to a local business to show our appreciation for their support. We have asked the parents to have their children dress up as a community helper that day.
We will celebrate our students’ gifts, talents, and faith on Tuesday. We celebrate how Catholic schools provide a nurturing environment for children to grow and learn not only in academics, but also in their faith. In the morning, we will gather through Zoom to share songs and dances. Sr. Margaret is preparing a special snack for this day.
Wednesday we will celebrate our wonderful and supportive families. We will be treating the parents with cups of hot chocolate and coffee from 7 – 9AM. The children will be making posters and cards to express their gratitude to their families for sending them to SHV. We have also prepared a special video or our families.
On Thursday, we will celebrate the many ways people respond to God’s call to be his friends and his followers. We are all called to live a life of service to help others. We will especially celebrate and acknowledge the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We will have classes Zoom with Sisters who had once worked at The Villa and are now living in Connecticut at the Sister’s retirement home. The presence of these Sisters at The Villa is such a blessing!
We will conclude on Friday by celebrating the amazing faculty and staff of The Villa. Our staff will be treated to catered breakfast and lunch at the school. Since this day is also First Friday, Nursery 2 class will lead us in a prayer service to celebrate God’s love revealed to us and Kindergarten will celebrate mass in the school chapel.
Registration
From February 1 – 7th, we will be registering our current families for the 2022-2023 school year which includes summer months of June and July. New family registration will begin on February 8th. All forms are online at the school’s website under the registration tab: https://www.sacredheartvilla.org/
As we celebrate our Catholic school, we are also very grateful to the parents who have entrusted the care of their precious little ones to us. Sacred Heart Villa is strong, thriving and well known because our parents share the good news of what we do here, providing an exceptional educational program rooted in strong Catholic values.
