Summer camp has been going great at Sacred Heart Villa this year. So many of our regular teachers are in the classrooms. This continuity has helped the program to be more orderly, yet fun and innovative. The teachers are doing a wonderful job planning activities, arts and crafts, songs, and stories for each week's themes.
We are preparing for our last four weeks of camp. The week of June 28th to July 2nd will have children celebrating the USA. There will be many activites involving our United States flag. The classes will tie dye a white t-shirt red and blue that we will use for a parade on Friday. Our plan is to have the children parade around the Hill and arrive at the American Legion Post where we will join in on some patriotic songs. We are headed to the warmth of the tropics July 6th through July 9th with an island getaway theme. During this week, the children will be creating floral garland to wear for a luau party. There will be other activites to learn about oceans and rainbow fish. A spectacular circus theme will happen July 12th through the 16th. The children will learn about circus animals, clowns, and circus performances without even leaving the Villa. Our final week of summer camp which runs July 19th to the 23rd will learn about the symbols of the International Olympic Committee and the awarding of the three medals for great performances in each of the various sports. As always, summer camp at the Villa is entertaining for every child as they enjoy the weekly themes.
