Temporary Closure due to COVID-19
These past weeks have been very challenging for Sacred Heart Villa as it relates to Covid-19. We found it necessary to close our youngest class on December 7th, as a toddler teacher tested positive. We then closed our N2 class on December 8th, as a nursery teacher tested positive for COVID. On Sunday, December 13th, our executive director tested positive for COVID also. The hard but necessary decision was made to temporarily close the school. Our executive director interacts daily with many staff and students. Our parents were notified Sunday evening of this decision.
Our parents were assured that the teachers would be sending home activities & work for their children to complete for the six and a half days of classes left in December. The PreK1, PreK2, PreK3, and Kindergarten classes began doing distant learning on December 14th. The teachers of the younger classes prepared activity packets for the children. All the teachers included fun Christmas themed activities and some Christmas presents, too. Our teachers are remaining connected to the families through their Class Dojo App.
It is our intention to reopen on Monday, January 4th pending any other issues. Sr. Alice and Kris Doder will evaluate the situation as it gets closer.
Please pray for our school community as we continue to navigate through these challenging times.
