6/16 A Day of Giving From the Heart
For 80 years, Sacred Heart Villa has been committed to providing an exceptional educational program rooted in strong Catholic values and a safe, nurturing environment. In order to provide for the best educational opportunities, it is important for each teacher to have an updated laptop in her classroom. Each classroom has either a Smart Board or flat screen TV to which these laptops could be connected. With laptops, our teachers would be able find exciting and engaging ways to enhance their lessons. Daily interactive morning meetings can be created for the students. A teacher could go on a virtual field trip with her class to a museum or zoo which would be wonderful since we might not be able to go out on field trips. If a child is unable to be in school, the teacher would be able to set up Zoom meetings with the parents and interact with the child. In addition to acquiring laptops for our teachers, we hope to purchase either Chromebooks or iPads for our Kindergarten students. These students would be able to use the devices in daily lessons particularly for our Reading program, The Superkids. The children would be able to access online activities and stories that reinforce decoding, encoding and reading skills. The Superkids Reading program also has online benchmark tests. The teacher receives test scores as well as feedback that can be utilized to meet the individual needs of each student. Would you please consider giving a donation on the Day of Giving?
