Each year during summer camp, we focus on learning about our faith during a Vacation Bible Week. This year’s Vacation Bible Week is entitled “Catch the Wave of God’s Amazing Love.” From June 3- 7th, we will acknowledge the God who loves us, made each of us in a special way. (Psalm 77:14) Daily through scripture, songs, and, we will explore ways how God takes ordinary things and makes them extraordinary special. Children will become familiar with verse from the Bible) each day. Each morning, we will start off with the whole school gathering in the playroom to hear God’s Word through watching a Bible story be acted out praying, learning songs with motions and dances. On Monday, we will hear the story of God’s creation. Tuesday, we hear the story of Moses’ birth and childhood. We move into the New Testament on Wednesday when we hear the Gospel story of Jesus' baptism by John. Thursday morning we learn of Jeus' power wheh he calms the sea. Friday will bring us to the story of Jesus' appearance to his disiples after the resurrection and he prepares them breakfast on the beach. God always provides!
The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus will be celebrated on Friday, June 7. The Sisters who staff Sacred Heart Villa, Cor Jesu Academy and St. Joseph School in Imperial are Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and celebrate this day as our major feast day. There will be a special Mass at St. Ambrose Parish on June 7th at 4:30PM. The Sisters will renew their vows and St. Ambrose Parish will display a special relic of Blessed Clelia Merloni, foundress of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Many of you have had our sisters during your education and we would love to have you join us. All are invited. Please note that while the Sisters who staff Sacred Heart Villa will be attending this mass at 4:30PM, the rest of the afternoon staff will carry on as usual for the needs of the children back at The Villa.
