January 3rd marked the 84th anniversary of the first day of school at Sacred Heart Villa. On that day in 1940, four Sisters of The Missionary Zelatrices of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (a name once used by the congregation of The Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) began this program to offer quality daycare for preschoolers. The dedication of the building would come later in the spring. Though the building has had porches removed and additions attached, a swimming pool filled in and different playscapes erected over the decades, the spirit of our program remains the same: to share the Love of the Heart of Christ as we offer an outstanding educational program based on Catholic traditions. When we first started, we served 3 year olds to Kindergarten children. Over the past ten years, we have seen the growing need for the care for 2 year olds so we have been adding 2 year old classes. Currently we have 5 classes of 2 year old, 3 classes of 3 year olds, and 2 classes of 4-5 year olds in PreK. Registration for next school year will begin in a few weeks. First, we accept registration from our current families and then open up registration to new families.
If you attended Sacred Heart Villa, or your child(ren) attended, please drop us a message through email to Sr. Bridget: bsmith@sacredheartvilla.org . We would love to hear from you and how your very first school impacted your life and prepared you for further education.
