Vacation Bible Week

Our third week of  summer camp will be our Vacation Bible Week entitled Workshop of Wonders. From June 12 - 16th we will acknowledge “the God who works wonders” who loves us, made each of us in a special way. (Psalm 77:14) Daily through scripture, songs, and science, we will explore ways how God takes ordinary things and makes them extraordinary special. Children will become familiar with a Wonder Word and a Vision Verse (from the Bible) each day. Each morning we will start off with the whole school gathering in the playroom at 8:45 to hear God’s Word through watching a Bible scene being acted out, praying, learning songs and dances. Here is the blueprint of the week:

Imagine with God: On Monday, we will hear the story of Esther helping her people by listening carefully, using her imagination and the gifts God had given her. We will learn that when we listen to God, use our imagination and the gifts God has given us we can share the love of God with all people.

Build with God: Tuesday we will learn through the story from the Book of Ezra that when we work together and allow God to guide us, we can build great things for God.

Grow with God: The Parable of the Mustard Seed will be our focus on Wednesday. We will learn that when we love one another, help others, and tell others about Jesus, we grow with God! Jesus’ parable taught the people to grow with God and so can we.

Work with God: In Thursday’s session Bible story, Jesus performed the miracle of the feeding the 5,000 people with a few fish and a few pieces of bread. When we trust in God, we can see God work in some amazing ways!

Walk with God: The story of the two disciples walking on the road to Emmaus will be presented on Friday. Just as God surprised the two disciples, God walks with us and wants to surprise us, too. We will think of ways the world is filled with the amazing, wonderful things God has made.

This Vacation Bible Week is packed with many remarkable stories from the Bible, catchy songs, and activities that will keep the children engaged and in awe of the wonders of God.
