This past week we celebrated our Kindergarten class graduation from Sacred Heart Villa. Fourteen students were honored this week as they prepared to leave The Villa for new schools. On Tuesday, May 23rd the class was treated to lunch at Favazza’s. The Favazza family has been giving this luncheon to each Kindergarten class ever since their children graduated from SHV several decades ago. The children had been working on their table manners and restaurant etiquette to prepare for this event. The children were dressed up for the occasion, which made the event seem even more special.
On Thursday evening May 25th before the actual graduation, the class performed a skit, The Glum Princess, from The Superkids reading program we use. The children enjoyed dressing up in their costumes to entertain their families and speak their funny lines. Then our fourteen graduates received their diplomas for completing The Villa’s kindergarten program. This time-honored tradition is over 80 years old. It attests to the legacy of the superior education received at Sacred Heart Villa.
Friday, May 26th was our last day of the regular school session. To celebrate this occasion, the school gathered for a prayer service in the morning to express gratitude to God for our teachers and staff who give so generously of themselves. Later in the morning, our two PreK classes had a “Moving On” ceremony with their parents to mark their passage from our program to their new schools for kindergarten. We hope all the students leaving us will share the love of the Heart of Jesus wherever they go.
Our summer session begins May 31st and ends July 21st. We'll have more tales to share from our fun summer activities.
