On the evening of the first Friday of the month, several families gather with the Sisters for a time of prayer and shared reflection at Sacred Heart Villa. This group is part of the Great Family of the Sacred Heart, also known as Grande Famiglia del Sacro Cuore or GFASC. It is a mission for families who want to be consecrated to the Heart of Jesus and to live an authentic Christian life following the charism of Blessed Clelia Merloni.
Members of the GFASC community seek to witness to the love of the Heart of Christ in their daily lives. The aim of GFASC is to lead each person to the source of life, Jesus Christ, to rebuild the family through prayer and faith-filled, loving service.
GFASC started in Brazil 25 years ago by Sr. Marta, one of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Now families from 11 countries around the world form one Great Family of the Sacred Heart and together seek to:
- Learn about Sacred Heart devotion and Blessed Clelia Merloni
- Consecrate their families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Witness to the love of God for others in the spirituality of the Sacred Heart and the charism of Blessed Clelia Merloni
- Journey with other families and support one other in a desire to live an authentic Christian life
- Support the mission and vocations of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus with their prayers
We are inviting families who wish to learn more about this group to joining us for our next meeting on Friday, 11/4 at 7PM in the playroom. If you have children, they can come, too. Sr. Matthew Maria, Sr. Alice and Sr. Margaret prepare activities and a prayer time for the children. Sr. Bridget facilitates the adults. If you want to gather with us on 11/4, RSVP to Sr. Bridget at bsmith@sacredheartvilla.org. If you are unable to join us but wish to learn more about GFASC, you can also contact Sr. Bridget.
