Our ever-popular Summer Camp began at Sacred Heart Villa on Tuesday June 1st. Our first day started off with a fun furry, feathery surprise! A petting zoo came to the front lawn on the school with two tall fluffy llamas, two young alpacas, three well-mannered goats (they could teach the goats at Grant’s Farm a thing or two), an assortment of colorful friendly chickens, two adorable ducks, and everyone’s favorite - two soft precious bunnies! These animals were so well trained, calm, and well groomed. We posted many pictures on Facebook so you can look at them.
Each week of summer camp has a unique theme. The first week centered on animals at the farm, in the ocean, and pets. The week of June 7th will be dedicated to STEAM, using fairytales as the springboard to investigate and problem solve. Every year we have a Vacation Bible School week. June 14-18th we will use a program called “Shake-it-Up Café,” which incorporates stories from The Bible that tell of meals and feasts with lessons on healthy eating. We will cap off June with our salute to Walt Disney. The week of June 21st will highlight four Disney movies that are popular with the children, and of course Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be a part of it all!
