Discipline

  • Discipline is developmentally related to the child's actions and will be in proportion to the particular behavior
  • The child will be made aware of the relationship between the act and the consequence
  • The staff uses practices designed and carried out to help inpidual children develop self-control and assume responsibility for their own actions—eg. speaking quietly with the child; redirecting the child's behavior; brief time-out to gain control (usually a few minutes—according to age)
  • Teachers/the Director will inform parents when there is a concern about a child's behavior
  • Consistency and cooperation between parents and school help the child develop a healthy social behavior934A0924
